Finding Hope After Nature Reminds Us of Its Power
On Monday, July 27, 2026, many families across the Fox Cities witnessed the incredible power of nature. Strong storms and tornadoes left a trail of damage through parts of Appleton, Menasha, and neighboring communities, reminding us how quickly life can change. Thankfully, despite the destruction, the community has come together to help neighbors recover and begin rebuilding.
Like so many of you, I've spent the past several days thinking about everyone whose lives were touched by these storms. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with those facing cleanup, repairs, and the emotional toll that often follows an unexpected event.
I am deeply grateful that my studio was spared and remains open. My heart is with everyone who has been affected by the storms, whether you are cleaning up fallen trees, repairing your home, or simply processing what happened. If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that even after life's fiercest storms, hope has a way of finding us again.
There Is Something Stronger Than the Wind
Nature has an extraordinary way of reminding us how powerful it is. But it also reminds us of something else. It reminds us how resilient people can be.
In the days after a storm, we see neighbors helping neighbors, strangers offering kindness, and communities coming together. We are reminded that even after the darkest skies, hope has a way of returning. That same spirit of hope is what I try to bring to every gallery reading.

My Studio Is Open
For those who have asked, the studio is open and was not impacted by the recent storms.
It is located at 920 Association Drive, Appleton, Wisconsin, 54914. Please remember that because of the ongoing Wisconsin DOT highway construction, the Richmond Street exits from Highway 41 remain closed. You can easily reach the studio via Capitol Drive or Wisconsin Avenue.
